My baby turns 4!

22 03 2009

We celebrated Lexi’s 4th birthday a couple of weeks ago.  I just can’t believe how quickly the time passes us by.

We had a great time.  Nonnie and Poppu came and stayed with us for a few days.  Lexi’s friends from the neighborhood and classroom came and partied with us.  Turner, the Dean of Magic performed for the kids and he was FABULOUS!  His magic show is SOOOOO entertaining (not only for kids but us bigger kids too!) and he does terrific face painting and great balloons sculptures too.  If you ever are in need of great entertainment for children, look him up.

I can’t post pictures of the adorable kids that celebrated with Lexi because I didn’t ask their parents, but here are some of my favorites from her 4th birthday.

The birthday girl was a little shy and didn’t want to “assist”, so big sis Hayley volunteered…

Lexi and her friends REALLY enjoyed the Dean’s magic…

A little apprehensive about all of the attention as she thinks about blowing out her candles, then…..no problem!

We’re glad that our families and Lexi’s friends could come and celebrate with us. We are so very blessed to have this beautiful, sweet little girl as our daughter. I’m grateful every day that she is in our lives and am thrilled to be her mommy. We have the 2 sweetest girls in the WHOLE WIDE WORLD!

The Fun 15

10 11 2008

When I spoke with Laura on the phone the first time, I could “hear” her smile over the phone…and each time after that; I knew she’d be fun! Laura wanted to coordinate a photo session with her extended family of 15…some live here, some in PA and some in VA. Lots of coordinating but we found a date pretty easily.

It was a fun session. Everyone was pretty easy going and we managed to get a lot of great images.

Here are some of my favorites from our time together…

Leon and Sandy, what a great group of people that make up your family. It was a pleasure meeting everyone that made it. Laura, Ed, Ben, Jennifer, Rachel, Dennis and Matt, and all of the young ones ;-) , thanks for making the drive!

Laura, thanks for taking the time to coordinate everything.

Heather and Tracy, thank you for referring me! Nahal, thanks for the great assisting during the shoot!

Romeo…oh Romeo…

9 11 2008

Alex is Romeo’s ‘mommy’. As Alex says, “he’s a lover, not a fighter…” And here’s a great example of that sentiment…This is Romeo during his mini photo shoot. “Lucy”, a neighborhood doggie caught his attention and he was no longer mine! Check him out checking her out…

Alex, I’m so glad we could take a few minutes to play with Romeo in front of the camera. He is so cute….and soooo fast! :-)

Mark, many thanks for joining us in the studio. You really are a stand up guy. Nahal has always spoken so highly of you; I had a great time getting to know you a little better.

Nahal, thank you for introducing me to another superstar. You have a terrific circle of friends; truly good people! :-)

GO LIONS!! :-D

Double rainbow…

25 06 2008

So there we were, reading books together on the couch, tucked inside nice and cozy because a storm had passed through, when we noticed super bright sunshine pouring through the slats in our blinds. WOOHOO, the storm was over (and we still had our electricity ;-) …always a good thing). Just then, Grandma Patsy called to tell us about a double rainbow that she could see from her place. We opened our front door to begin our search and there it was, right in front of us.

Gorgeous way to end the day. Thanks Grandma Patsy for the heads up.

Thanks God, for the beautiful artwork in the sky.

One day, two weddings…

16 05 2008

We had a wonderful day last Saturday.  We shared the day with Aubrey and Eric as well as Karen and Scott and their awesome families and friends.  It was an energized day for me and Tracy, surrounded by fantastic people and tons of love throughout the day for these couples.

I will be blogging more about both couples later this weekend, but wanted to get a couple images out there for now….

Aubrey and Eric were married Saturday morning at Sacred Heart in Bowie, MD.  It’s a beautiful chapel and Father Perry was most enjoyable.

Check back for their story and more images, but for now, here’s the beautiful bride while getting ready…

…and the happy couple after their ceremony…

Robin and Debbie were photographers for Karen and Scott during their ceremony and also took all of their portraits! They did a fantastic job and I’m proud to have them on my team.

Here are just a couple for now…

If you read my blog for Karen and Scott’s engagement session, you’ll remember that Scott went to University of Maryland.

Their reception was held at the Marriott bordering the campus. Robin was able to get some great photos of them in front of the “M”. I love this image of them…

We met some fantastic, fun and terrific people at both weddings and I am really looking forward to writing and posting more images from the day. Be sure to check back.

A wonderful day with Becky and Trevor…

5 04 2008

Tracy and I were so excited to share last Saturday with Becky and Trevor.  They are a cute, fun, in-love, happy couple; we had a blast getting to know them during their engagement shoot and we knew their wedding day would be awesome.

Their wedding day was a beautiful one!

We met at Holy Family Catholic Church in Frederick, MD a couple of hours before the ceremony.   We were greeted right away by Father Kevin…warm and welcoming.  Both he and Gina, the Church coordinator, were great to work with and did a fantastic job!

I love this shot of Becky that Tracy captured…any sight of Trevor??…
Photobucket

After hair and makeup, arriving at the Church, getting dressed, having some of the formal pictures taken, as a bride seeing her dad for the first time, putting her garter on (which was made with part of her mother’s wedding dress), Becky was able to find a bit of peace prior to the ceremony…
Photobucket

This next image is one of my favorites from the day. It really shows the emotion of moment. Becky’s father, George, had just escorted his daughter into the Church, and ‘gave’ her to Trevor…
Photobucket

Newly married, here’s the elated couple as they walked out of the Church…
Photobucket

It was awesome to see Becky’s parents again and to meet her brothers and sister-in-law. I met Trevor’s family for the first time and can sincerely say that this couple is soooo blessed with the love and support that surrounds them.  It was a joy meeting their friends as well.

We didn’t have a lot of time before heading out to the reception, but we were able to take advantage of the beautiful day and got some fun shots…
Photobucket

…so sweet…
Photobucket

It was a breezy day, sometimes more like ‘windy’. Just when we thought we had the direction of the wind figured out, ol’ Mother Nature played games with us…
Photobucket

A beautiful picture of Becky and Trevor in the meditation garden at the Church…

Their reception was at Lynfield Event Complex. Dorlah is the event coordinator there and did an amazing job.

I love being able to get entire group pictures of a special occasion. Here’s Becky and Trevor with 200+ of their closest friends and family…
Photobucket

There were so many fantastic vendors with which we worked. Here’s a couple of images of their cake…
Photobucket

Photobucket

Joyce Seng is responsible for this amazing cake. Linda Romano created all of the gorgeous flower arrangements. Renaissance Chef, oh..my…gosh…prepared the food…it was AMAZING!!!!!

Dave from Soundsations rocked. He was totally in tune (no pun intended, I promise) with what Becky and Trevor’s wishes were as well as the guests. He had a vast and diverse selection of music.

Becky and Trevor, you have a terrific start to your life together. You’ve got so much on the ball, you are really terrific people and you have friends and family all over the place that love you dearly.
Photobucket

I appreciate you giving me this tremendous honor of documenting your wedding day for you. Tracy and I enjoyed capturing these memories. I know you’ll look back at your pictures 50 years from now and remember the special moments that took place on March 29, 2008!

23 02 2008

I had such a great time last Saturday.  I had 3 really fun photo shoots.

The first shoot started in my studio with Kathy and her adorable son.  He really did a great job having fun in front of the camera.

Here are a couple of my favorites…
