Will’s High School Senior Portraits ~ Howard High School {Ellicott City Photographer}

15 01 2014

Will is one of our AWESOME senior’s from Howard High School. Not only did we have the pleasure of taking his senior pictures, but his family portrait as well.  Oftentimes, parents ask if they can incorporate a family portrait into their child’s senior session.  That is one of the many types of sessions that we provide and definitely an option worth choosing.

Although Will was initially a little camera shy, he quickly warmed up to the lens. We enjoyed spending a nice evening with his fun loving family. 🙂  Thank you so much for choosing Pam Long Photography for your senior and family photos.

Family Portraits – Ellicott City Family Photographer

4 05 2012

I had the pleasure of creating family portraits for this wonderful family.  This is the embarrassing part…last year… 😮 (I’m so far behind in blogging).  They attended our Halloween Charity event last year and received a certificate to put toward a future session and I was thrilled when Euncha scheduled a design and planning session to create their family portraits.

I really enjoy getting the entire family together for family photos.  It’s a great opportunity to celebrate each other.  I’ve had the honor of watching these kids grow up and they’ve really grown into beautiful, respectful, fun and smart kids.

As I look at these images, I can recall the laughter and fun we all had during their photo session.  Thank you, Tony and Euncha for trusting me to produce these beautiful portraits for your family!

I was happy to deliver this wall portrait framed and ready to display above their fireplace.

The following  2 images of the kids,  grace their walls as 20″ gallery wrapped canvases.

Thank you Euncha and Tony for the honor of photographing your beautiful family!

And FYI to any residents in Anne Arundel County, Euncha and Tony own Grateful Pets, a terrific pet service company, phone # 410.266.3998, email at info@gratefulpetsinc.com   Be sure to check them out when you find you need such a service!

Senior Portrait Photography, Ellicott City–Books, Books, Everywhere!

2 12 2011

Allow me to introduce myself: my name is Rachel, and I’m interning with Pam at Pam Long Photography this year (and I’m thrilled about it!).
We recently had an excellent photo shoot with a senior named Laura from Mount de Sales Academy! We photographed her entire family the week before (check out the photographs below!), and she just couldn’t get enough of us so she got her own senior session! We had a great time photographing her twin brother, Chris as well.

Laura is a big bookworm, and for her photos she brought five bags full of her favorite reading material. We had a great time stacking up the piles into a tunnel for Laura to lie down under and read her favorite book, and everyone got into it! Her collection was envy-inducing: the entire Harry Potter series (bought in England!), Le Morte D’Arthur, Edgar Allen Poe, Looking for Alaska, a whole bunch of books by Tamora Pierce…I would name many more than that, if I could remember them all! It was a super unique set of photos, and lots of fun–especially when she stood up and knocked them all down!
Laura is also a budding photographer, and that lent a whole new set of ideas for portraits. But I won’t ruin the fun: check out some of the samples below!
All in all, it was a great time, one of my favorites so far. Laura, we had a great time doing your senior photos, and we hope you did too!

Fun with the whole family!

Laura’s brother Chris got his senior portraits with us as well!  Chris is an awesome senior at Mount St. Joseph.

And our magnificent book piles come tumbling down!

And now, a note from Pam.  Wow, what great sessions we had with this incredible family! Jodi, thank you so much for contacting us and choosing Pam Long Photography as your photography studio for your family portraits as well and your senior portraits.  We had a magnificent time with your entire family.  I had a great time planning your different sessions with you, photographing and getting to know your family and having you back in the Studio for your Portrait Premiere. It was fun watching you all interact together.  It’s been a true pleasure getting to know you and your family.  Thank you. 🙂

Rachel, you are a gem.  Thank you for your assistance during the sessions, for your genuine love of photography and for wanting to be the best you can be.  I’m honored to have you interning with Pam Long Photography this year!  And congrats on your first blogpost!!! 😀

Baby portraits for handsome Gabriel {Ellicott City Photographer}

23 05 2011

I LOVE having the honor of photographing babies.  Truly, I love everything about it. I love the family portraits we capture, the photographs of mom with the baby, dad with the baby, all of it! Toes, fingers…so cute and tiny!

I’ve had the pleasure of creating many family portraits for this beautiful family. Gabriel is actually their fourth child!….and first boy! Yes, he will have THREE big sisters looking out for him. 🙂

As I look through the images from Gabriel’s session, I’m reminded of when I was pregnant with my now 7 year old and having tears in my eyes while sharing my excitement with Denise (Gabriel’s mom). I couldn’t wait for her and her hubby to experience the joy, the anticipation, the wonder of it all. Well now, fast forward almost 8 years, and they have had FOUR children since then! FOUR!! They handle parenthood so well. Denise and Rob, I admire how you work so beautifully together to balance your personal and professional lives. Your children are very blessed to have you as parents.  Your clients in your real estate company, The Garner Team, are real fortunate to have you as well, you really work hard for them so that their buying and/or selling experience is a good one.

Here are just a few of the images from our morning together.  I’m looking forward to his six months portraits when he is surrounded by all of his adoring sisters!

Thanks again, Rob and Denise, for the continued honor of documenting your family’s love.

“Welcome home daddy” and “Happy birthday, baby!” {Ellicott City Photographer}

27 03 2011

So…..I met Shawn last year.  She had called my studio asking if I did “cake smash” photos for babies birthday pictures.  After chatting and answering some questions, I invited her into the Studio to discuss further what she wanted and what I could offer.  I loved our visit, we hit it off right away.

Through our conversation that day at the Studio, I learned that her husband was in the Middle East serving our country.  He would be home in several months when their baby turns one!  AWESOME!!  How great that we could create a family portrait at the same time of Cheyenne’s one year portraits and cake smash photos!

Even though it was several months until daddy would be home, I was able to see Cheyenne and her mommy a few times.  I invited her to help me showcase some of my new tutu sets, Cheyenne was a great little model.

Hi daddy!!  Hurry home!

Christmas baby…

Fast forward now,  to last month when the long awaited trip from husband and daddy was finally realized.  Brian was now on U.S soil and with his family!!! 😀 He, his beautiful wife and baby and his parents all came to my studio for a great afternoon.  It was a true honor and joy to have all of them here.

Here are some of the portraits that we created that fun February day.

First of all, THANK YOU, BRIAN, for serving our country.  I’m so thankful for you and all of our servicemen and women.

Are they a beautiful family or what??

How sweet is this??

This just melts my heart….

Sometimes, I’m lost for words….

Brian’s beautiful and proud parents…

On to the birthday girl!  Time to party.

I had such an amazing time photographing Cheyenne and her family!  I am honored to have had the pleasure to get to know this wonderful family.  Debbie, Bill, Leslie, Brian, Shawn and baby Cheyenne, big hugs to you all!

Shawn, I’m looking forward to our next fun day with your little sweetheart.  Let’s get your grandmother in here for that “4 generations of gorgeous girls” portrait!  😉

Welcome, Colt! {Baltimore Newborn Photographer}

21 01 2011

(slideshow link is below)

Sherry and Chris already had one beautiful child, sweet Kayleigh.  Last year they welcomed their second child, adorable baby Colt.  What an honor it was for me to go to the hospital the day he was born to document the first day of his life.

I LOVE photographing the moment when older siblings meet their new baby brother or sister.

We’ve had the pleasure of knowing Sherry and Chris for several years now.  She worked for Trinity Homes when we bought our house.  Beautiful woman, beautiful personality.  Before I was a professional photographer, she and Chris asked me if I could photograph their wedding.  Yikes!  I had only photographed one wedding and it was with the understanding that even though I worked hard to learn different aspects of photography I wasn’t a professionally trained photographer, I didn’t have duplicate equipment should something break, and if something went wrong, well….I’ve heard horrible stories.  So, I borrowed another camera so I could use one for black and white film and the other for color (hadn’t made the digital switch yet), read more books, practiced more, asked questions from some mentors and I had a nice (albeit nervous) time photographing Chris and Sherry’s ceremony.

Chris and Sherry are those people, that whenever you see them, it’s always a pleasant time.  Their goodness is infectious and it definitely was passed onto their daughter Kayleigh.

Fast forward several years from their wedding and baby Colt is about to arrive and be welcomed into this wonderful family.  I quietly stepped into their hospital room and was instantly in awe of this darling little baby!  He was truly magnificant and such a cutie pie.  Then I saw Sherry, holy cow!!!!, you would have never  known that she just gave birth…she was beautiful and obviously in love with the newest member of their family.

Here comes Kayleigh, so excited to meet baby brother, Colt!

They had to hang out in the hallway for a little while….but it was fun!!

So much love…

So sweet…

I hope you enjoy this slideshow.  It tells the story of a portion of Colt’s first day.  Kayleigh was so excited to meet him as she came running down the hallway, gift in hand to give baby brother.  Oops….then she had to wait because it was time for the nurse to check on Sherry and baby Colt. Kayleigh (and dad!) played in the hallway to pass time and then…..it was finally time to get the family together!!

Sherry and Chris, THANK YOU for allowing me into your life and into this very special and intimate day.  I hope you enjoy reliving Colt’s birthday.  Love you all!

Peace out, little guy. It was so awesome and such an honor to hang out with you on your birth day! xoxo
