What’s going on in Ellicott City and Howard County?

26 11 2014

Happy Thanksgiving to you all! We hope that you have a wonderful holiday – filled with lots of love and good food! (full bellies and full hearts) 🙂

There are several exciting things happening in Ellicott City and Howard County that I wanted to let you know about:

There are a couple of local Turkey Trots that I thought you might be interested in! The Turkey Trot Charity 5K sponsored by the The Dancel Family Center Y  at 8:30am starting at Long Gate Parkway.  We participated in this last year and will be there again tomorrow….wish it would be like this past Monday’s nice, balmy weather…but we will manage. 😉

Another fun option is the 11th annual 5K and 1 mile run at Catonsville High School. All proceeds benefit CHS Cross Country Program and the philanthropic causes they support.  Our friends at Portalli’s and the Diamondback Tavern are sponsoring this great event. Come join the fun and burn some calories before the big feast!

If you’re participating in the Turkey Trots, don’t forget to record the Macy’s Day Parade! 🙂

Everyone loves contributing to Toys for Tots! We are an official drop off location.  So, if you are local or just venturing down to Historic Elllicott City for some fabulous shopping, you can help bring joy to an underprivileged child by donating a toy that they will receive for Christmas this year! Drop off your new toys to Pam Long Photography, located in the Howard House, 8202 Main Street, Ellicott City, Md. 21043. As an added bonus, if you bring your toy receipt, we will match your cost (up to $100) in a gift card to our studio. You can gift this gift card to a loved one or use it for yourself for beautiful portraits. Pam is an international award winning photographer and was voted Howard County’s Best Photographer for 2013!  In addition, the Salon Marielle, also located on Main Street in Ellicott City, is offering gift cards for 20% off your next color treatment with your donations! We have these gift cards at Pam Long Photography and will be giving them to the first 15 people that donate toys! We can’t wait to see you!

And finally,  Midnight Madness is just around the corner! Get a jump start on your Christmas shopping and come enjoy the festivities in Historic Ellicott City!  Stores, boutiques and restaurants will be open until midnight on Friday, December 5, 2014.  Beverages, treats and special offers throughout town! Don’t miss the annual Christmas tree lighting,  at 6 pm at the Howard County Welcome Center.  Free shuttle service from 6pm-12am.  Santa at the Log Cabin from 4-8, located at the top of Main Street next to The Wine Bin.  Babysitting services offered at Roger Carter Center. Vote for your favorite store window displays. Details can be found here.  Be sure to stop by the studio and say hello! 🙂

Christmas pictures for the Mason cuties…

8 11 2007

I had the pleasure of photographing Peyton and Paige today along with their mommy.  I had a lot of fun getting to know this family.  Mike, we missed you, hope to see you next time. 😀

Cheryl had seen one of the Christmas cards I made last year and loved the idea of a custom card for her family. I won’t reveal her pick for her Christmas card, but here are a few of my favorites from the shoot…

Here’s Cheryl and her cute 4 year old twins…
