Are you familiar with Salon Marielle?¬† Do you already receive some of the fantastic services that they provide? ¬†Salon Marielle is an Aveda Salon and MaryAnne Spurlin, the owner, has Salon Marielle by the Bay in Havre de Grace as well. Continue reading and you’ll find some great promotions for current clients and potential clients of the Salon and of Pam Long Photography.

‚ÄúOur mission at Salon Marielle is to recognize and enhance the natural beauty around us; from the clients we serve to the communities in which we work while maintaining our commitment to the Aveda lifestyle.‚ÄĚ
MaryAnne Spurlin, Founder

The Salon came highly recommended ¬†to me a couple of years ago by a few of my friends. ¬†The moment I stepped into their Salon, I was happy to be there. ¬†The aroma of lavendar in the air, the welcoming smiles from the staff members and the attention to detail that I received from my stylist, Kathleen. ūüôā

One of the exciting things I wanted to begin this year was to partner with some of the local companies and get more involved in the community. ¬†One way I do this is to offer wall displays to other businesses in which I am impressed. ¬†If they treat their clientele with great respect and truly care about consistently providing great customer service, I offer to partner with them. ¬† It’s been great showing off some of my clients in this wonderful establishment. ¬†The displays will change throughout the years, so be sure to mention to me when you schedule an appointment that you are a Salon Marielle client, perhaps a portrait of you, your child or your family will be displayed on their walls.

Here’s a quick snapshot of one of our displays, located in their waiting room. ¬†My clients have enjoyed their gallery wrapped canvas wall groupings in their homes.

I’ve had the privilege¬†of providing professional headshots for their stylists and staff members. When I consulted with Rachel, the manager of the Salons, I had asked her if she wanted the headshots to look consistent with each other or allow a little creativity so that the different personalities of each stylist could be recognized. She definitely wanted each of her staff members to have some flexibility. It was fun having them in the Studio and getting to know each of them a little bit more. Here are the wonderful staff members of Salon Marielle of Ellicott City and Salon Marielle by the Bay of Havre de Grace.

This will be a large 60″ portrait, proudly diplayed in their Salon.

Welcome home, Max!

4 09 2010

While most people were celebrating with joy during the July 4th weekend, this family was mourning the loss of their dog, Tootsie.  She was a beautiful dog and a family member to the Lopez family for many years. She is missed dearly.

Eventually mom started visiting the Animal Welfare Society in Howard County to check out other doggies. ¬†She wasn’t anxious to adopt another dog but thought if she saw one that seemed right for them, there might be a possibility of a new family member. ¬†In time, ¬†one caught her eye. ¬†She brought her son the next time to check him out. ¬†She went back to start the adoption process only to find out that someone else had already begun the adoption on that dog.

She returned several times, keeping an open mind and open heart…and then…there he was…Max! ¬†It was evident that Max really wanted to go home with Sarah and her son, Tito. ¬†Not only did Sarah notice Max, but ¬†when she returned another day, Max remembered Sarah and got her attention how ever he could! ūüôā

This guy is soooooooooo cute. ¬†I had the honor of documenting their day as Sarah and Tito picked Max up from his temporary home, took him to his appointment at PetSmart for his shampoo, blow dry and teeth brushing and then to his new and permanent home. ¬†What a joy to watch Tito fall in love with Max, referring to him as “my buddy” and taking complete ownership in his care. ¬†He is so proud of his buddy Max!

Here is Tito’s buddy, Max. Walking out of the animal shelter and into Tito’s life…

Home, Max is HOME!!

This image warms my heart…

I hope you enjoy this slideshow of special moments from The Day in the Life of Max…..

Sarah and Tito, thank you so much for allowing me to hang out all day with you to capture these special moments.

Hayley and Lexi, thanks for being great little helpers so I could do this for Max and his family.  Special thanks to Hayley for videotaping part of the day!

Please call Pam Long Photography to see how they can document a special day in the life of your family!

Pet photography

3 07 2009

is sooooo much fun! ¬†I would never consider myself a “pet photographer”. Of course I’ve taken portraits of pets while I’m at their home taking family portraits, either including them in the family portrait or having them go solo once I’m done with the family or quickly swinging the camera around when I can tell they are curiously watching me from behind. ¬†But I’ve never been called on to go on location specifically for pet portraits. ¬†So when {M} contacted me and asked me to come take her dog’s portraits I was excited yet also a little apprehensive. ¬†What if I couldn’t capture their “personality”, what if they run off, what if……YIKES!

{M} is one of those people that you wonder if she ever has a bad day. She is one of the nicest and kindest people that I’ve met. And these traits have been passed on to each of her children. The warmth that Mary emanates runs through her children, their spouses and her grandchildren; truly a great set of people. ‚ô• ‚ô•

During our conversations, I learned the {M’s} main goal was to capture the dogs in their environment on the grounds of their home. ¬†She explained that they were older now and not doing so well. They’d like a large canvas hanging on one of the walls in their great room.¬†¬†These dogs mean a lot to {M} and her husband and I hope they like what I have to show them.

{M} thank you so much for having me out; it’s always great to be around you. Your dogs were sooooooo fun to photograph. I’m sorry I missed {D}, please tell him hello.
