Ilchester Elementary prepares for a night at Camden Yards!

30 05 2011

Recently, the children and staff of Ilchester Elementary spent the morning with the very fun, hilariously animated Oriole Bird, the fantastic mascot for the Orioles!  Escorting the Bird were some of Howard County’s finest police officers.  And, although it was a dreary, rainy day outside, it was a bright and festive day inside the school!  Later that day, hundreds of the school children and their parents enjoyed a fun evening watching the game from the stands.

This was the seventh year that this phenomenal school community had attended Ilchester Night at Camden Yards!  Each year, several hundred people from Ilchester Elementary School make it an evening at Camden Yards.  When ticket sales begin, typically several weeks before the game day, the parents are asked if they’d consider purchasing an additional ticket to be used as a donation.  Donated tickets in the past have gone to the The Kennedy Krieger Institute as well as the Ronald McDonald House.

This year, for the third year in a row, the tickets were donated to the Howard County Police Department’s BearTrax Kids Program.  This is a mentoring program for elementary school children in Howard County who are deemed “at-risk” by their school administrations and would otherwise, for a variety of reasons, not have the opportunity to attend a baseball game.

The students at Ilchester are learning a valuable lesson about the differences between them and the caring of their neighbors.  Ilchester Elementary School is also fostering a wonderful relationship of cooperation between IES and the other elementary schools in Howard County, MD.  They hope to continue this for many years to come.  And, as a mother of two children at Ilchester, I hope they do too! 😀

Their night at Camden Yards was eventful, definitely a nail biter.  It went into 15 innings!!  Unfortunately, the Yankees walked away with the win on the scoreboard.  But I believe that the Ilchester staff, and children, along with their families, walked away with the win in their hearts!

Thank you to everyone at Ilchester, the Howard County Police Department and the Orioles organization for continuing to go above and beyond in providing for our children!  We certainly appreciate you! 🙂

I hope you enjoy this video of the student’s fun morning with the Oriole Bird!

Thank you!

Family portraits and a slideshow…

with the Militello cuties! I LOVE kids! Probably because I’m just one big kid. Or perhaps because they are so stinkin’ cute. I am so blessed to be able to photograph people for a living!

Last week I posted a slideshow of these adorable children welcoming their baby sis into the world. Fast forward 10 months, and baby sis is growing up! How precious is she?

Click here to view the slideshow of my fun morning with this beautiful family. Thanks again, Jen and Bill. It’s so fun hanging out with you and your cuties!

Love you tons!

The beautiful Scibek family…

22 07 2010

On a gorgeous Father’s Day Sunday, we met at Mom-Mom and Pop-Pop’s house for family portraits.

I love this family and was so glad that everyone could be in town to make this happen. Thank you, each of you, for making my job sooooo fun! It was great seeing all of you!  Harrison, thanks for being my third arm and taking care of the “interviews” so I could make this slideshow even more special for your grandparents.  (I will say that next time, I will have an external microphone so voices are more audible).

Shareen, thanks for working with me and coordinating the communication throughout your family. I love you so much.

Frank and Carol, Shareen and Scott, it was great seeing you the other night when you were here for your Portrait Premiere.  I’m thrilled that you like your photographs.

I hope you enjoy your slideshow! and always enjoy each other’s company.

Welcome, baby sister!

27 06 2010

Theresa and Jeremy were already blessed with an adorable son and on June 7th, they welcomed their beautiful baby daughter. I had the wonderful honor of photographing baby sister “A” just one day after she was born.

Theresa’s best friend purchased a Pam Long Photography gift certificate for a hospital photo session. I LOVE going to the hospitals and photographing the older sibling(s) as they see their new baby for the first time. Big brother “R” was able to meet his baby sis the night before and he was still beaming about it when I saw him the following day.

Big brother held his sis for the first time and it was just precious to watch. Mom was gorgeous, she didn’t remotely look like she had just given birth. And dad, he had a wonderful gift of calm about him as he radiated with pride.

Jeremy, it was great to meet your mom and sister and sweet niece.

Theresa and Jeremy, thank you for allowing me to share part of your special day with you.  I hope you look back at these images each year and a warmth floods your heart.  You are wonderful parents and have a beautiful family.  Your children are blessed to have you as parents.  Hugs to you all and a huge congratulations!!

I hope you enjoy your slideshow. Click here to enjoy their slideshow.

melt my heart!

I was thrilled to meet baby Ella.  I met her mom last year when she came to my studio for corporate head shots.  Months later, she contacted me to photograph her maternity session with Julia, the soon-to-be big sister! I had a great time with them. 🙂 I could tell that Julia was going to be an awesome big sis!  Click here to see a few images from her maternity session.

Jennifer is a beautiful, smart woman and her daughters are absolutely precious. I’m looking forward to taking their family portraits very soon!

Here’s sweet, 6 week old Ella…
