These families worked hard to rally the votes for their children and spread the awareness of NILMDTS.

And a HUGE THANK YOU to all of you who voted for your favorite model!  Because of you our six Cutie Models raised over $2550!!!!!!!  WOOHOO!!  This money goes to a very deserving charity.  NILMDTS is a non-profit organization committed to assisting parents and families going trough the difficult time when they experience an early infant loss.  NILMDTS connects families with photographers and provides them with a reproducible CD of the images of their baby at no cost to the family.

A very special thank to Denise and Rob Garner of The Garner Realty Team. They matched dollar for dollar of the votes that came in the last couple of days of the contest! It gave everyone a really nice chance of doubling their money towards the race to win and rallying the vote! I was extremely touched by their generosity; they easily could have put the matching dollars toward their own children that were in the contest and instead helped all of the PLP Cutie Models. Thanks again Denise and Rob.

I had a fantastic time working with my families in the contest as well as hearing great stories from many of you. The awareness level for NILMDTS has certainly expanded due to this contest. There are many deserving charities that I’ve worked with in the past and will continue doing so. Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep serves a great purpose and it’s an honor to raise money for them. I appreciate all of the people who worked so hard behind the scenes at the NILMDTS headquarters to make this a true fundraiser success.

Thanks again to everyone that voted for any of the beautiful children throughtout the U.S.

Have a great day.

I wish you a HAPPY, HEALTHY and FABULOUS 2009!

I want to thank you for a wonderful 2008. Many of you have emailed me with the most incredible sentiments and I appreciate every word you’ve shared with me. I love working hard for you and serving you to the best of my ability. To be able to take pictures for people and document incredible moments of their lives is a dream for me. Thank you, thank you, thank you for trusting me to do this for you. Many of you have referred me to people and I have yet to even meet YOU! It’s amazing that you feel comfortable passing along my information and we’ve not yet met. I do not take that for granted, I appreciate your faith in me (and I hope to meet you soon). 🙂

To the couples that have chosen PLP to photograph your wedding this coming year, we will have a blast! I’m looking forward to getting to know you better and I appreciate you allowing me into this incredible and intimate moment of your life!

To my clients that have become part of my photographic family this past year, I hope you know how much I have enjoyed working with you and producing the images that evoke the emotion that I’ve seen from you. I strive to exceed your expectations in every possible way.  Thank you so very much for your referrals…not to sound cliche’, but there is no greater compliment!

And to the people that I will meet this year, let’s rock and roll and have a great time producing the images that you’d like hanging on your walls.

To all of the amazing photographers that give of your time, your talent and knowledge to share with those of us who are continually hungry to learn, thank you. I’ve attended some AMAZING one day workshops and seminars, a fantastic fun-filled, information-packed week long school, have bought numerous dvd’s from a wealth of different, talented photographers and attended a wide array of webinars. I’m honored to be involved in a career that is as tight as the photographic field. I’ve learned from so many these past couple of years and I’d like to mention them and give them a personal thank you. Michael Redford…a PHENOMINAL business person and amazing photographer, Mike ColonBob DavisSandy PucMike Larson, Scott Kelby, Eddie Tapp, Mary Fisk-TaylorJamie HayesDenis ReggieAlison BynumJeff and Julia WoodsNathan and Amber Holritz, David JayCorey McNabbHanson FongEd Pierce – one of the BEST and most thorough interviewers as well as accomplished photographer, The MARS school in Cape May, NJ.  In addition to all of the wonderfully talented photographers who keep amazing blogs, thanks for continuing to inspire.

Happy, happy New Year to you and your families and friends. I hope everybody has a positive outlook for a fantastic new year! Enjoy!!

I am so blessed to have had a great 2007.  I have a wonderful husband and the sweetest little big girls EVER.  A great  family and terrific friends.   A fantastic group of professional photography friends willing to share their infinite knowledge and experiences with me.  And the best clients that anybody could hope for.

In my line of work I am fortunate to build friendships with people, who for a brief moment, were strangers.   I also appreciate my friends that have been a part of my life for years who allow me the honor to be their photographer.  I know I’ve said it before but I’ve got a fantastic job!!!  Thanks to all of you who have put your trust in me to document your special occasions and precious moments.  I’ve had a ball getting to know you and I’m looking forward to continuing our friendships.

Thank you also for referring me to your friends, families, neighbors and coworkers.  Obviously that is the best compliment a business could receive and I truly and humbly appreciate it and appreciate you.  I will continue working hard to earn your loyalty.

Thanks again for believing in our talents at PLP.  Our passion to deliver your memories, whether it’s an 8 X 10 paper print or a 30 X 40 canvas print, thank you cards or holiday cards, albums or dvd slideshows, is undying and we’re looking forward to serving you in 2008!

A final thank you to my clients, because of you we raised almost $400 for Huntington’s Disease and Special Olympics in 2007.  As you know, five dollars from each photo session goes towards charity and those are the charities that will receive monies collected last year.  THANK YOU.  Every dollar helps.   I can’t wait to see what we raise in 2008!

🙂 Pam and the PLP staff.

Meeting Chanda Bell, co-author of Elf on the Shelf…

4 11 2007

My mother-in-law called me last month to inform me of the “Elf on the Shelf” and to see if I’d like it for the girls….during the holiday season, this elf will hang out at our house daily and observe the behavior of our girls.  Each night he will go back to the North Pole to report to Santa of their behavior, good or bad.  Of course in our case, it will be good GREAT behavior.  😀

Each morning the girls will wake to find him in a different spot after returning from the North Pole….to observe again.  Awesome, what a cool tradition this will be in our home….the girls will love it!  They also get to name their new buddy, can register the name online and receive a special note from Santa Claus!!

Then today my friend Sarah called to tell me that the author will be up the street at Banner’s Hallmark for a book signing.  I was so excited for Hayley to meet the author of this great story.  Sarah and Tito picked us up, we stopped by Grandma Patsy’s to pick up our book and off we went.

Chandra could not have been sweeter.  She’s a natural with children, very welcoming, someone you think you’ve known before.  She co-authored this book with her mother, Carol Aebersold.

Here she is with Tito…

…and with one of her friends that traveled with her from GA and one of the elf helpers at Hallmark…

I liked this idea so much that I bought another book (& elf) for Lexi so when they are grown with children, they both have the storybook to pass along.

This is a fantastic story and tradition, I know I haven’t done it justice so please check out their website by clicking the Elf on the Shelf.

Thanks Patsy and Sarah for bringing this story into our lives!  I know we’ll have a great time with it.

Thanks to Chanda for taking the time away from your family to bring joy to ours.  We appreciate you.

Eddie Tapp presents to MDPPA

19 10 2007

It’s been a week of seminars….

Wednesday I had the honor of attending Eddie Tapp’s Photoshop Seminar.  He’s a great speaker with a wealth of knowledge in post production workflow.  Many times during the class you’d think fireworks were going off with all of the “oouuuuuu’s” and “aahhhhhh’s”.  He had the honor of touring 23 cities with Monte Zucker last year and held back tears while telling us about it.

Can’t wait to try some of the new actions and procedures that he demonstrated.  Fantastic!

Here’s Eddie with my friend and fellow photographer Anne Looney

Mike flew out from Southern California yesterday to share his knowledge and experiences with photographers from the DC and Baltimore PUGs (Pictage User Groups) .

Mike’s life experiences have taught him to be a terrific photographer and a smart businessman.  He travels domestically and internationally as a wedding and lifestyle photographer as well as a speaker.  He has a beautiful wife whom he loves and adores; together they set a fantastic example of what marriage is all about. The love they share for one another is evident in all that they do.  Be sure to check out Love Is A Choice.org .  Rachel, thank you so much for sharing him with us last night.

Here’s a shot of Mike (thanks for taking it Geoff  ) sharing a slideshow during his presentation…

Mike, thanks again for your time; I know and understand how valuable it is. I appreciated you sharing your knowledge and wisdom with all of us. You have great insight and fantastic suggestions. I’m stoked about your mentoring sessions , thanks for offering them. 😀

A quick shout out to the staff of Levante’s in Bethesda.  Several of us met Mike for dinner at your place…..the staff was great and food was FANTASTIC!  I had the feta pide and ate the entire portion.  yummmm.  Thanks Jessica and Sarah for setting it up.   If anybody is in Bethesda and wants eastern mediterranean style food, check them out for sure!

You’re AWESOME Tracy!!!

30 09 2007

A special note to Tracy, my wonderful 2nd shooter and friend!!…..

I am grateful and thankful that you are so into photography and willing to photograph weddings with me.  First of all you have a terrific eye,  you step back to see what’s going on and then catch it with pictures.  You make people laugh and smile.  You are so hungry to learn, it’s refreshing.  You’re eager to do well and to help exceed my client’s expectations.  You never complain under any circumstances (even when we have 2 weddings in one weekend and you’ve been on your feet for 18 hours!!!!).

Thank you for subscribing to the glass is half full……no……’spilling over’ outlook on life.  That’s a natural trait that people have, you’ve either got it or don’t (though I’ll keep trying to show & convince people otherwise  😉 )   and you’ve got it.  I love surrounding myself with positive people and that’s one of the many reasons that you have a gzillion friends, because of your amazing outlook.

Thanks for your continued interest in wanting to learn more, become better, and for the ease in teaching you.  I’m honored that you are part of my team.  🙂

You are a fantastic mother, wonderful wife, terrific friend, caring daughter and an A+ photographer.

You know I love you.
