We had a wonderful time with lots a fun and beautiful dogs on Sunday, April 28, 2013 at Worthington Dog Park in Ellicott City, MD.
BARK FOR LIFE, is a four legged version of Relay For Life, that benefits the American Cancer Society. It was a great way for dogs and their owners to raise funds and awareness for the American Cancer Society’s fight against cancer while having fun with other dogs (and humans 😉 ).

After registration was complete, the event began. Dogs, and owners, had a great time as they joined the parade through the perimeter of the off-leash area of Worthington Dog Park. They also had time to play; it was fun to observe the families playing games with their four legged family members, photographing them, meeting other furry friends, running around chasing (or being chased by) their dogs. It was the perfect day to be outside enjoying the beautiful weather.Prizes were awarded to some of the dogs for Biggest Dog, Smallest Dog, Best Trick, and Best Costume.
I need to give a big shout out to Vicky, the event’s organizer. She did an amazing job coordinating this event. Anyone that has hosted an event, or been a part of one, knows that type of work requires a LOT of time, organizing, planning and doing, doing and more doing. Vicky handled it all with a go-getter attitude as well as a lot of grace. I didn’t actually meet Vicky until the day of the event, all of our communication was via email or phone conversations. I met her the day of the event…..I was very surprised to find out that she had just had a baby…..2 weeks prior to the event!!!! Amazing! Thank you, Vicky, for giving so much to allow BARK FOR LIFE to be a successful event.
Thanks to everyone’s participation and donations, $1720 was raised for the American Cancer Society!! Well done, everybody!
