Brooke’s “Frozen” themed birthday party {Howard County event photographer}

25 05 2014

I recently had the pleasure of hanging out with a tremendous family, a joyous birthday girl and their friends while photographing Brooke’s birthday party.  I love documenting events and this one was SO MUCH FUN! 😀

Once Brooke chose to have a “Frozen” themed birthday party, her mom, Michelle, put her creative juices into overdrive to deliver an amazing birthday experience for her 9 year old!  From the decorative details, to the activities, to the food and the wonderful assistants helping keep the flow moving, the day was nothing short of a huge success.

When you take the time to enjoy this video, you’ll be witness to the infectious laughter, joy and pure happiness that shines from this beautiful birthday girl.  You’ll notice some of the details that Michelle came up with, you’ll notice Brooke’s older sisters and their friends assisting throughout the party, and you’ll see many of the fun activities that Brooke’s friends were able to have fun doing.  Whether they were playing parachute games, catch the snowball, ‘sledding’ down the hill, having their nails painted, eating while watching Frozen, creating beautiful picture frames, thinking of different activities that Olaf would like to do in the warmer months, enjoying the yummy birthday cake, or singing and dancing, these girls really had a great time celebrating with Brooke!

You know it’s a successful party, when you overhear one of the partiers (2 hours after being there), “What?? Only 5 minutes left?? But we JUST got here!”

Enjoy the video:

They were still preparing for the party, Brooke’s checking out the bubble machine.

A few of the details that added extra ‘oompth’ to this party, Michelle had several ice sculptures that she made.

I love how the Frozen characters became more visible once the ice started melting.  Michelle is a party, decorative genius!

In case you were asking yourself, “Self, what would Olaf do during the warm months?”

Of course, he’d chill on a raft in the pool. 🙂

As I was packing up after the party, we decided to have a quick, impromptu photo shoot with the wonderful assistants 🙂 and with Brooke’s family.  I enjoyed chatting and laughing with them all day, such fun and amazing young ladies!

Paint What Matters with Benjamin Moore, yes, Ellicott City Matters

20 05 2014

You may remember the huge Benjamin Moore Campaign last year, Paint What Matters.  Because so many wonderful people helped spread the word and voted, Ellicott City’s Main Street was one of the 20 Main Streets that will get painted!

This will be a brief blogpost, but I wanted to let you know that the work has begun. 🙂  Following, are a few photos from this morning.  I will continue blogging and sharing pictures, as  much as possible.

Joel, from Definition Painting Services, Inc, is a talented, detail-oriented and organized contractor.  He and his team have the pleasure of Painting What Matters!  We are thrilled to have them in town!

Columbia Paint Co. is supplying the paint for our beautiful buildings.  Please consider visiting them when you are in need of quality paint products!

FYI, there will be a kick-off event tomorrow. Here is the info for that:

You are invited to join County Executive Ken Ulman, Councilmember Courtney Watson and representatives of Benjamin Moore for a “first strokes” kick-off of the Paint Main Street initiative.

This event is being held on Wednesday, May 21, 2014 at 10:30 in front of the B&O Museum. Hopefully, you can join in to initiate this exciting effort to add color and brightness to the historic downtown. Thank you for participating in Benjamin Moore’s Paint Main Street. We look forward to seeing you on May 21.

I wanted to send a special thank you to Kelli Fitzsimmons-Myers of A Journey from Junk for bringing Benjamin Moore’s campaign to the attention of our awesome historic town.  Because of her, we all jumped in and rallied votes and support! Thank you, Kelli!

I also would like to thank the shoppers and store owners who participated in this video!  You helped rally the votes and I appreciate that!

Class of 2014 Senior Spokesmodel team {Ellicott City High School Senior photographer}

1 05 2014

THANK YOU to our phenomenal, fun, beautiful, kind and talented Class of 2014 Senior Spokesmodel team! I’m incredibly proud to know you!

We are honored and pleased that that these seniors chose to represent Pam Long Photography this year. We had a great time getting to know them and hang out with them throughout the year. It was a blast, whether we were in our studio or out on location! It amazes me (and each year, I’m reminded), how good they are at achieving an enormous amount of activities in their daily schedule and still be exceptional with their school commitments. Their accomplishments are remarkable. Again, I’m proud and honored to know them!

Our seniors represented several different high schools from Howard County, MD and Anne Arundel County, MD. We pride ourselves with creating custom works of art while having the ability to help our clients relax and have fun so that their unique personality becomes evident in their portrait. We hope you’re able to see that  throughout this video.

We wish the Class of 2014 all the best! Please keep in touch with us – we want to celebrate your successes! We are looking forward to continuing to watch you grow; we know you’ll become even more amazing! Your adventure awaits! Have fun.

THANK YOU!

Newborn portrait session {Ellicott City newborn photographer}

1 05 2014

I had the amazing pleasure of meeting Gina’s mom and newborn baby, both on the same day. 🙂  Gina and Matt welcomed their sweet, beautiful baby a couple weeks prior to us getting together for their newborn photo shoot.  I was counting the days before I was able to meet their beautiful little bundle of goodness.

Gina and Matt already seemed like well-seasoned parents, even though baby G is their first child.  They were cool, mindful, realistic, laid back yet on top of things, and allowed me work with their little one with complete trust. So easy going! 🙂

Gina and Matt, thank you so much for the trust you placed in me.  I loved our time together and look forward to seeing you soon.  Please give your mama a hug for me. 😉

Here are a few of their newborn portraits.
