Congratulations to our 2013 high school seniors {Maryland High School Senior Photographer}

Presenting the Class of 2013! Congratulations Seniors!  We are so happy for you!

We had the best time photographing these wonderful seniors! Just look how beautiful they are! What a wide variety of talented young people we had the privilege of working with! Our seniors ranged from musicians and gymnasts to dancers, artists, and all types of athletes!  Many of these young people were involved in extra-curricular activities: school yearbook committee, chess club, orchestra, key club, drama club, student government association, etc. Our seniors represented several different high schools from Howard County and Anne Arundel County. We met so many funny, smart, interesting people! We had a blast with them all, whether we were in our studio or out on location! There are many awesome backdrops and props at our studio that we were able to utilize with them!  We also greatly enjoy going on location to capture unique portraits of our awesome students! Often, siblings and other family members got in on the fun and joined the photography session! We have a blast working with families and capturing this special time in their young person’s life.

Alia’s Senior Portraits and some beautiful family portraits too! {Howard County Family Photographer}

We had a fantastic time photographing Alia for her senior portraits. It was great hanging out with her, she’s quite an amazing young lady.

Happily, we were able to coordinate the timing of her photo shoot with her brother’s college break. This gave us the chance to create some fun images of the two siblings as well as family portraits! Don’t be mistaken when you watch the video, there is a brother, a sister and a mom. You will think there are 3 siblings, nope….mom is a gorgeous woman that looks like she could be their sister! Alexander, Alia and Nicole, I’m so glad we were able to spend the afternoon with you all. The respect and love you show toward each other is inspirational.

Bark For Life, Sunday, April 28, 2013 to benefit American Cancer Society

Hey all of you dog owners…..check out this awesome event scheduled for Sunday, April 28, 2013 at Worthington Dog Park in Ellicott City, MD. 🙂

Come celebrate BARK FOR LIFE, a four legged version of Relay For Life!  This is a phenomenal way for dogs and their owners to raise funds and awareness for the American Cancer Society’s fight against cancer.  You help the American Cancer Society save lives, and that helps them move closer to their ultimate goal of a world with less cancer and more birthdays.

So bring your best canine friend and join us for a fun-filled day with demonstrations, contests, and games.

Pam Long Photography will be on site and we’re looking forward to watching the races, seeing the cute dogs, checking out the costumed doggies while documenting their event.  Be sure to stop by our Photo Booth, we’ll have doggie treats and human treats too ;-).  Pictures from the event and photo booth will be posted on our Facebook page, click here to head over and ‘like’ our page if you haven’t already.

Historic Ellicott City’s Spring Celebration, Saturday, April 20, 2013 12pm-7pm.

Hi everyone!

Mark next Saturday, April 20th, on your calendar, and come to Ellicott City’s Main Street for FUN!  Something to do for all ages, you’re sure to go home with great memories.

Lots of family activities, including Moon Bounce, Flower and Vegi Planting, Earth Day Collage Making, Hair tinsel and feathers, painting stations!!!

20, YES, 20 BANDS!  There are 3 stages for the bands, Wine Bin Stage, Tonge Row Stage in Parking Lot D and Tonge Row Courtyard and at the Beer Garden in Tiber Park near the Rumor Mill where Beatles music will be featured!

The historic sites will be open for you to enjoy as well, B&O Railroad Museum, Thomas Isaac Log Cabin, Firehouse Museum (1pm-4pm), Ellicott City Colored School Restored (1pm-4pm).

We have amazing restaurants, including Tersiguel’s, The Diamondback Tavern, Portalli’s, Cacao Lane, The Rumor Mill, LaLa’s hot dogs, LaPalapa, The Phoenix, The Judge’s Bench, Pure Wine Cafe, Ellicott Mills Brewing Company,…….what else could you ask for? 🙂

As you may already know, we’ve got some great shops and boutiques!

The committee that makes all this happen has been working hard to offer a great day for you.  They are in need of volunteers during the day.  If you have a couple of hours available throughout the day, please email me so I can pass along the info to you.  They will need help with set up and breakdown, selling beer tickets and pouring beer.

Focus on Ellicott City boutiques – A Journey from Junk {Commercial Photographer Ellicott City}

Since moving our Pam Long Photography’s studio to Historic Ellicott City, I’ve truly enjoyed getting to know the other business owners.  It’s really an amazing group of people that work hard to offer wonderful services and products to their customers.  I’ve always shopped on Main Street and it’s a ‘must-do’ for friends and family when they visit.  When walking the quaint streets of the town you’ll notice the uniqueness that it has to offer,  yet at the same time, comforting familiarity.  If you haven’t been down here lately, I hope you make a trip soon! 🙂

A Journey from Junk is vintage chic with a hip and funky twist! It’s one of my many favorites!  They just celebrated their 5 year birthday on Main Street, Ellicott City!  The same weekend of their birthday celebration, they opened their second store, right around the corner on Tonge Row (look for the fun blue door).  Kelli owns this awesome boutique and Tanya does a phenomenal job managing it with her!  They have a wonderful team of store employees; you’ll always find a happy ‘hello’ waiting for you.

They recently became our local retailer for the Annie Sloan Chalk Paint ®. They will be providing learning workshops in their new location, be sure to call them to add your name to the list, (410) 465-8330.

Kelli says that her love for all things vintage, old and well worn was her inspiration for her boutique in Historic Ellicott City.  And I can tell you from experience, you walk into her store and you instantly feel right at home with a certain amount of comfort and nostalgia.

As you walk around her boutique, you’ll find hand painted furniture, vintage home decor, chandeliers,women’s accessories, clothing, cowboy boots, jewelry, candles and bath and body.

We had a great time capturing the following images to showcase not only their fun and unique clothes they offer but their boutique as well.  Kelli and Tanya work hard to put the fun in funky!

First Fridays – Historic Ellicott City – TONIGHT

It’s going to be a beautiful evening to head to Historic Ellicott City and enjoy the wonderful shops, boutiques and restaurants that our wonderful town has to offer.

These are just a few of the fun happenings in town this evening.

There will be live music throughout town, BLIND MAN LEADING will be playing at the B & O.

Sweet Elizabeth Jane is celebrating their second birthday, be sure to stop in.  Lauren Ruth Ward will be performing!!

While you’re making your rounds, The Wine Bin is a must.

First Yappy Hour of the Season is tomorrow!

Help them kick off the first Yappy Hour of the season!  One of their most popular events, Yappy Hour is held in the parking lot on First Fridays and features live music! Inside the store, enjoy a wine and Parfections chocolate tasting. This month, donations and a portion of sales at the event will go towards Baltimore Animal Rescue and Care Shelter.

Be sure to stop by Mumbles and Squeaks Toy Shoppe and stock up for any future birthday parties that your kids may be going to soon.  Journey from Junk, Vintage Bliss  and Shoemakers are great places to stop and shop.  Really, I could go on and on about the wonderful stores in Historic Ellicott City.  Enjoy….you will love them all!

Pam Long Photography will be closed this evening but I’ll be down there in between our kid’s activities to capture some fun photos from the night!  I hope to see you down there.

Creative and Collaborative Photo Shoot {Ellicott City Photographer}

We had the privilege of working with Lauren and Chelsea- two phenomenal women who are both incredible models! We had such a blast – the creative energy was palpable! We had originally scheduled a collaborative photography session with Lauren and it was a bonus that Chelsea could join us, as well!  We created some incredible portraits of our gorgeous ladies.

We absolutely loved working with Lauren! We are so grateful, given her extremely busy schedule, that she was able to participate in this awesome shoot with us! Let me tell you a little bit about Lauren: she is absolutely beautiful, both inside and out! She is fun, kind, generous, lovely. She is multi- talented.  She is a phenomenal barber at Ooh La Lal, and  an incredible make-up artist (she provides hair and make-up services for our clients and always gets rave reviews!). She is an off-the-charts-with-talent singer and songwriter!  Be sure to check out her Youtube page.  NYC – here she comes! She is also a wonderful model and is highly creative!   It was such a joy working with her!  She was open to all of our crazy ideas, she had amazing suggestions, and together we created images that are just stunning!

Chelsea is also incredibly photogenic! Check out her striking green eyes!  And, how fun is her purple hair? Chelsea was a great sport hanging out with us all day while we photographed Lauren and it was such an awesome bonus when she posed for us, as well!
