Double the pleasure

27 10 2008

with these two families.

This is the fourth year that I’ve had the pleasure of photographing Marie and Jay’s family and the third year that I’ve been able to photograph Laura and Mike’s family….and I have sooo much fun with them.

This year we had a great time at Patapsco State Park.  Here are some of our fun images from the day.

Time for Homecoming

24 10 2008

at Howard High School.

Saturday was the big day at Howard High. Nahal and some of her friends got together at her house, after the game…which they won 🙂 and before their big night out.

Here are a few images of the awesome group of friends…

Introducing Megan and Jason…

18 10 2008

I had a wonderful time a couple of weeks ago with Megan and Jason. They are getting married next June so we got together for their engagement shoot. What a FUN and cute couple. Their day was full of laughter, hugs and kisses!

They live in Southern Maryland and liked the idea of shooting at Patapsco. In fact, Jason emailed me asking if I knew the Park and I was thrilled to say that it’s one of my very favorite places to take people!

Here are some of my favorites from our day…

Aren’t they soooo cute??

We ran into a group of fun people who were taking each other’s pictures. I saw this on the back of one of the couple’s shirts…I thought it was very appropriate for our occasion!!

When we were driving to another area of the Park, everything was looking somewhat familiar to Megan. She realized that this area was one of her stomping grounds in her high school days (sorry, I have no details to share 😉 ). She told us that just up the road was an area where there were faces on trees…yes, faces on trees. Were the faces carved…drawn with markers…how did the faces get on the trees?? It was the topic of conversation for awhile. We asked her a few more questions about the faces and continued on our way.

Once we wrapped for the day and we were heading back to the car, irony hit us. Because of the late afternoon sun through the leaves, as well as the yellow paint that marks the trail, the Park wished us farewell and good evening!!

Megan and Jason, thanks for a fun day. I really had a great time getting to know you both better. I’m thrilled that you enjoyed Patapsco. Your wedding day is going to be awesome and the start to a wonderful life together.

MaryEllen, thank you so much for referring me to Megan and Jason. Great people!! 😀

The beautiful family portrait

13 10 2008

for the Scibek family.

I just love this family. I’ve been friends with Shareen for a bzillion years now. She’s a beautiful, beautiful person. And Scott, you’re okay too! 😉 And then there’s their sweet, handsome boys!

Shareen and Scott wanted an updated family portrait; the last one we took was two years ago.  When we discussed their wants and needs, it was decided we’d get some studio shots as well as environmental.

I’ve got to say that this was honestly one of my easiest sessions that I’ve ever had. Easy and breezy!

I’m posting three different versions of their family portrait.  There were several that I liked.

TO ANYBODY READING THIS:  I NEED YOUR HELP!  I’m updating my portrait walls in my studio and screening room.  One of these images will go into a large 24 x 30 frame.  I love them all for different reasons.  Leave a comment as to which is your favorite.  Anybody who votes in the comment section will have a chance to win a FREE PHOTO SHOOT.  Here’s what you need to do:  1- Leave a comment on my blog with your favorite choice.  2- Email me (pam@pamlongphotography.com) with your info: Name, email address, phone number, mailing address.  Each name will be entered to win.  I will announce the winner on my blog the week of November 3rd.  You do not need to choose the winning image in order to win, you just need to vote!! EVERYBODY who votes will be entered.

#1 Nice and traditional,  I love the harmony of it all….
Photobucket

#2 Anybody who knows me knows why I love this one…
Photobucket

#3 I just plain love environmental portraits…
Photobucket

Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous…

Shareen and Scott, thanks so much for this awesome privilege of photographing your family. Honestly, it was so fun and easy! I love seeing you all. I can’t wait to show you all of them.

xoxo

FAMILY PORTRAIT MONTH

5 10 2008

Don’t miss our “Family Portrait Month” promotion! Weekends are booking fast;  I only have 6 more weekend sessions open in October! Call 410.719.0405 to reserve a space for your family.

This October Pam Long Photography will participate with an elite group of photographers around the country in a very special family portrait promotion. Throughout October we will celebrate “Family Portrait Month,” a wonderful opportunity for you to update your family portrait (or portraits of your children), and help to support Operation Smile, which treats children around the world who suffer with cleft lips, cleft palates and other facial deformities.

Along with other studio members of Professional Photographers of America (PPA), we have pledged to contribute a portion of our sales to PPA Charities, which has chosen Operation Smile as its charitable partner.  PLP will donate $35 of each session fee to Operation Smile.

What’s more, we want you to benefit from this special offer: You will receive a
free 8 x 10 portrait and a 10% discount on holiday cards with purchase.

Recording the faces of children and their families is our greatest pleasure. That’s why we believe so strongly in the work of Operation Smile. Each year this incredible organization of more than 6,000 volunteer doctors, nurses, dentists, and specialized health-care professionals, perform free reconstructive surgeries for children suffering with cleft lips, cleft palates and other facial deformities. More than 100,000 children are born with a facial deformity each year in Operation Smile’s 26 partner countries.

We also believe that Family Portrait Month is a wonderful way to teach children the value of reaching out to others. Even small children can understand the importance of Operation Smile’s work, and they are eager to help these needy children.

We hope you will join with us in helping to make this vital work possible.

Don’t forget that the holiday season is right around the corner, so there’s no better time for a family portrait, which is always appreciated as gifts for family and friends and to send along with holiday greeting cards.

As always . . . we look forward to creating some truly wonderful portraits of your family.

Thank you,

Pam

Fun maternity portraits…

2 10 2008

for Denise and her girls.

I had a ball last week photographing Denise, (who is due next week!!!) and her adorable little girls.

Denise looked fantastic and her daughters were just so stinkin’ CUTE!! and so loving toward “baby Garner”.

Denise was one of my first maternity photo shoots I had when I began my professional career as a photographer. It was few years ago when she was due with her second baby. I was still a film girl, but had just purchased my first digital camera. So her session was photographed in both film and digital. It’s only been a few years but it’s amazing to me what I’ve learned since then! That is probably the last time I ever picked up my film camera too! 😦 But I llooooovvvvveeee digital! 😀

Here are some of my favorites from our great time together…

How entirely sweet is this…

Denise, thanks for allowing me this privilege again! It was fun including the girls this time wasn’t it?!
