The Hardy girls…

25 09 2008

I was so excited about last Sunday.  I had 2 awesome families on my schedule that I was really looking forward to seeing again.

The first was Mary and Olivia (hope you had a great time at the game Walter 😉 , we missed you) as well as her sister-in-law with her daughter.

I was thrilled to see Mary and surprised at how Olivia had grown since I’d last seen her.  Click here to see her last photo session…

So here we go, the girl’s grandmother bought them these adorable dresses so their mommies thought it would be a great idea to get some professional pictures of them together.  We had a great time both outside and in the studio.  Here are just a few of my favorites.

Love this one of the girls…catch the upside down sunglasses…

Mary, thanks again for allowing me this awesome treat of photographing Olivia. Thanks also for introducing me to Noelle and Alexa. xoxo

And let me tell you Noelle, you are a gem.  These Hardy boys know how to pick good women.  It was a joy to meet you and Alexa.

I’m looking forward to seeing you next week and presenting all of your images to you.

My Baby’s First Year plan…

25 09 2008

is sooooo much fun. Jackson and his mommy and daddy were the other family that I was really looking forward to seeing on Sunday. I went to Jackson’s house for both his newborn and his 3 month old portraits. Kelly wanted to come to the studio for his 6 months and I was thrilled to see them all!  Click here and here to view his newborn portraits and here to view his 3 month portraits.

Jackson amazes me each time I see him. He has the greatest expressions. Cute expressions, funny expressions, he truly speaks with his face.  And…I couldn’t believe the growth he’s had in just 3 months!

Here are some of my favorites from our time together.

Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep

24 09 2008

This past summer I volunteered to be a photographer for this wonderful organization, Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep.

I am so incredibly blessed to have my two daughters. They are the two most amazing little girls that have ever graced this earth. I thank God every day, usually about a zillion times a day, for them. I cannot imagine my life without them.

The field of photographers that I’ve associated myself with the past few years are absolutely incredible. They give generously while sharing their knowledge and time to eager-to-learn-more photographers. Technology and trends change constantly and there is always a photographer willing to share to help others grow.

But there is another way that I have found photographers to be extremely giving. That is through charity. The art of Photography is a gift. A gift that can be shared with many. Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep is amazing and I encourage you to continue reading.

With the Month of October being recognized as Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month, The Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep Foundation holds its Annual Fund Drive for six weeks starting in mid-September and ending in October.

President Ronald Reagan enacted Proclamation 5890 in October of 1988 to recognize that each year, approximately a million pregnancies in the United States alone end in miscarriage, stillbirth, or the death of a newborn child. Reagan stated, “A national observance offers us the opportunity to increase our understanding of the great tragedy involved in the deaths of unborn or newborn babies. It also enables us to consider how, as individuals and communities, we can meet the needs of bereaved parents and family members… ” To read the full Proclamation signed by Reagan, CLICK HERE.

Where do I begin…

18 09 2008

to tell you about Nahal?

She is a fantastic person. A wonderful daughter and sister. A fun and responsible babysitter to my girls. A very intelligent student. A great friend to many. An eager-to-learn and competent assistant in my office. A beautiful girl. And…she remains sweet and humble!!

Nahal is my “senior” model. I offer outdoor, location and studio portraits as well as the standard yearbook portrait. Nahal has been helpful with it all. We had to wait several weeks to complete her shoot because we were renovating the studio. Well, the studio was complete last week (WOOHOO!!!) and we finished her senior portraits. Here are some of my faves…

Nahal, thanks so much for being YOU. I appreciate your help in my office. Johnny and I appreciate the way you are with our girls. We love you and are glad that you are such a trustworthy person. Our girls have a great example of a high school senior because of you.

Class of 2009

Katie….another smart, beautiful, and fun senior!!

I had a great time with Katie while taking her senior pictures.  She joined Nahal (her post will be next 🙂  ) one afternoon while we went out on location, and despite several mosquitos buzzing around and snacking on us, Katie was a superstar.

Here are some of her images from our fun afternoon…

Katie, thank you for the assist in helping me roll out my Senior line; you did a phenomenal job. I could certainly tell while spending a few hours with you that you are a wonderful, smart and considerate girl! Kudos to both you and your parents.

Little Lennan…

3 09 2008

is a doll!!  I had so much fun last week photographing Lennan and his family.

His grandmother (she’s sooo young I find it hard to call her a grandmother) contacted me to ask me to photograph this sweet beautiful child.  I was ecstatic to meet him.  I had met his mommy and grandparents last year when I photographed his Aunt’s wedding and thoroughly enjoyed them all.

This little darling has so many beautiful expressions.  I’m excited to share a few.  I really had a tough time narrowing down which images to highlight.  Here are some of my favorites.

Take a look at this face…

When I spoke with Kathy, I asked her what Lennan was doing at this point of his life…he’s been working on his crawling. While I was there, he set his sights on the newspaper across the living room floor and off he went…

Kathy, thanks so much for contacting me and giving me this privilege of meeting your newest family member. It was fantastic to see all of you. Hayley had a great time being my assistant and I appreciate your welcoming arms. Nick, whenever Hayley comes into my office and sees your images on the screen, she says “That’s the funny guy!” 😀

Colleen, keep enjoying your sweet little boy; he is such a joy and blessed to have a wonderful family to love him. You’re a great mommy.

I can not wait to meet your new addition in the fall. What a fantastic family portrait that will be.

Many thanks to you all. xoxo
