Beautiful maternity portraits…

25 07 2009

for a beautiful mommy and big sister.

I had a wonderful maternity session last week with Jennifer and her sweet little girl. Julia can not wait to be a big sister; she is already so in love with her baby sis…

Jennifer is almost 38 weeks pregnant in these images. Isn’t she GORGEOUS??

I met Jennifer last year when she needed corporate head shots for her company’s website. And honestly she didn’t look any different now than she did when she wasn’t pregnant, except now she has a cute little belly.

FUN family portraits…

23 07 2009

with another fantastic family.

Kristin contacted me after checking out my website. She liked the “realness” that she saw in my photos; it was important to her that the personalities of everyone were captured. She wanted to get the “look at the camera and smile” pictures done first so we could catch the fun candids as well…..right up my alley!! Her sister would be visiting from Colorado and they wanted family portraits of both families. I enjoyed our phone conversation and knew we’d have a great time photographing everyone.

When I arrived at their home, I was greeted by smile after smile. Grown ups and kids….great, pleasant smiles! When we had previously spoken, Kristin wasn’t sure if her husband would be able to be home for the portraits…I was happy to see that he could take a break from work; it wouldn’t have been the same without him.

Here are some of my favorites…

Sara, Kristin’s sister and her husband Kyle, read to the kids while I set up my gear.

Kim and Rodger’s Engagement Session in Baltimore

7 07 2009

I have to start out by saying I had a complete blast with Kim and Rodger. They are so comfortable with each other and with the love that they share; it was extremely easy to spend the afternoon with them.

This couple eats, breathes and sleeps Baltimore. So, it was no surprise when they told me that they wanted to have their e-session in Baltimore. We started on Federal Hill, stopped by their house (and I got to meet their adorable baby….doggy) and then over to Ft. McHenry. They really wanted to showcase their city of Baltimore as well as their love and I believe we accomplished just that!!

Here are some of my favorite images from our time together…

Aren’t they so super cute????….

Pet photography

3 07 2009

is sooooo much fun!  I would never consider myself a “pet photographer”. Of course I’ve taken portraits of pets while I’m at their home taking family portraits, either including them in the family portrait or having them go solo once I’m done with the family or quickly swinging the camera around when I can tell they are curiously watching me from behind.  But I’ve never been called on to go on location specifically for pet portraits.  So when {M} contacted me and asked me to come take her dog’s portraits I was excited yet also a little apprehensive.  What if I couldn’t capture their “personality”, what if they run off, what if……YIKES!

{M} is one of those people that you wonder if she ever has a bad day. She is one of the nicest and kindest people that I’ve met. And these traits have been passed on to each of her children. The warmth that Mary emanates runs through her children, their spouses and her grandchildren; truly a great set of people. ♥ ♥

During our conversations, I learned the {M’s} main goal was to capture the dogs in their environment on the grounds of their home.  She explained that they were older now and not doing so well. They’d like a large canvas hanging on one of the walls in their great room.  These dogs mean a lot to {M} and her husband and I hope they like what I have to show them.

{M} thank you so much for having me out; it’s always great to be around you. Your dogs were sooooooo fun to photograph. I’m sorry I missed {D}, please tell him hello.
